These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of WordSail (“WordSail”, “we”, “us”) — a managed WordPress hosting service available at this website. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use WordSail.
1. The service
WordSail lets you launch and manage WordPress websites without handling servers, databases, or TLS certificates yourself. Sites are served from infrastructure we operate and are reachable at a subdomain of wordsail.site that we assign to you.
We offer a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. Plan limits (such as the number of sites you can run at once) are shown on our pricing page and may change over time. Changes to plan limits will not retroactively remove sites you already run.
2. Your account
- You must provide a working email address and keep it current — service notices (including site expiry warnings) are sent there.
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required to consent to these Terms in your country.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your password safe and enable two-factor authentication.
- One person or organization per account. Accounts created in bulk or with disposable email addresses may be removed.
3. Free plan sites
Free plan sites are meant for trying ideas, and they are temporary:
- Each free site expires 7 days after you launch it. We email you before expiry.
- At expiry the site is suspended (taken offline but not deleted). It remains recoverable for a further 7-day grace period, during which upgrading to Pro restores it.
- After the grace period the site and its database are permanently deleted. Deletion is irreversible — export anything you want to keep before then.
4. Pro plan and billing
- The Pro plan is a monthly subscription. Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record — Paddle’s terms apply to the payment itself, and we never see or store your card details.
- Pro sites do not expire while your subscription is active.
- You can cancel at any time. Your subscription runs until the end of the paid period, after which your account moves to the Free plan and free-plan rules apply to your sites.
- Prices may change; we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change affects you.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use WordSail to host or transmit:
- anything illegal in your jurisdiction or ours, or content that infringes others’ intellectual property;
- malware, phishing pages, or content designed to deceive or harm visitors;
- spam or unsolicited bulk email, or sites that exist primarily to manipulate search rankings;
- content that sexually exploits minors, promotes violence, or harasses individuals;
- cryptocurrency miners, proxies/VPN endpoints, or other workloads unrelated to serving a website.
Because sites share infrastructure, we may throttle or suspend sites that consume resources in a way that degrades the service for others. We will contact you when practical before taking action.
6. Your content
You own the content you publish on your sites. You grant us the technical license needed to host, store, back up, cache, and serve that content — nothing more. You are responsible for your content, including having the rights to publish it and complying with laws that apply to it (for example, privacy laws covering your own visitors).
WordPress and most themes and plugins are third-party software licensed to you under their own terms (typically the GPL). You install and use them at your own risk; we do not review or endorse them.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or remove sites, or terminate accounts, that violate these Terms — immediately and without notice where the violation is serious (such as malware or phishing). You can delete your sites or your account at any time. We may also discontinue the service or parts of it; if we do, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your content.
8. Disclaimers
WordSail is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and free-plan sites are not backed up for your retrieval — keep your own copies of anything important.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WordSail will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $10 if you have paid nothing).
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. For material changes we will notify you by email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
